Clearance Officer – Job Description
Seeking experienced Clearance Officer to join our Residential Clearance Team. The ideal
candidate must have at least 2-4 years of experience in a similar role. The position is
responsible for handling large volumes of files, for residential New York transactions as well as
national transactions. Strong customer service skills are a must as this position is very involved
with communication with clients, salespeople, attorneys and underwriters. Attention to detail,
good organizational skills, and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment are essential for
success in this position

Primary Duties:
 Read and clear purchase and refinance transactions; for residential transactions
 Examine abstracts, leases, contracts, and other legal documents to determine title
insurance and legal issues in connection with title insurance commitments/reports
 Works with title agency clients and attorneys representing parties to a real estate
transaction to clear title exceptions and prepare the title for closing
 Ability to prepare and/or review both Owner and Loan Policies for appropriate
 Preparing and/or reviewing and knowledge of Title Bills/Invoices
 Experience with Surveys, Survey Readings, Real Estate Taxes, Recordings and Escrows
 Experience with both New York and National transactions

 Experience in Select (Preferred)
 Able to maintain work priorities in an environment with multiple concurrent tasks and
projects and maintain flexibility related to assigned tasks
 Able to work with minimum supervision in a team-oriented and fast-paced environment
 Must be willing to work overtime as needed
 High energy, a positive attitude

Job Type: Full-Time
Compensation: DOE, negotiable
